The Freehold Township School District facilities committee reported progress on selecting a construction manager for referendum projects.
Committee members said eight firms submitted proposals; the facilities staff narrowed the list to about four viable firms. The board agreed that the facilities committee plus one additional board member would conduct Zoom interviews of the final candidates next week to preserve a quorum limit and to move a recommendation onto the June 24 agenda.
If a manager is selected at that meeting, the district plans a July 1 start date. The design window is planned from July 1 to about Nov. 1; documents will then be submitted to the New Jersey Department of the Treasury for a review period the administrators described as roughly 90 days, with a target re-bid window of late January to early February.
Board members emphasized that construction management choices affect project quality and urged careful vetting of firms before selection.
