The branch manager at KS Bank confirmed to staff that the account would carry no service fees, consistent with other town deposits at that bank.
Town staff said they will not deposit funds into the new account until an internal operational policy — currently in draft between police and finance — is finalized and approved. The approved signatories on the account will be the finance director, the town manager and the assistant town manager.
The motion authorizing the finance director to open the account on or after July 1 passed without opposition. Staff said the account will allow the town to segregate those funds securely while complying with chain‑of‑custody, court and evidence requirements.
