Campo transportation manager reports ongoing RTP outreach, federal rule changes under review

Campo’s Transportation Manager, Chris Martinovich, told the board Wednesday that outreach for the regional transportation plan (RTP) is ongoing and staff have met with multiple agencies and community organizations to gather input.
"Our survey is still open and available for those who haven't taken it," Martinovich said, noting flyers around town and online availability. He said staff have met with the Nevada Department of Transportation, Douglas County, Central Federal Lands and other land managers and stakeholders to collect input that will shape project priorities.
Martinovich also said Campo is monitoring changes in federal regulations that may alter the allowable use of funds such as Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) or Transportation Alternatives funds. "Previous rules have been rescinded, and so we're waiting for new guidance from the Federal Highway Administration and the USDOT on the use of those funds," he said, adding that "right now it's still business as usual" and that USDOT continues to release grant opportunities.
He reminded the board that the next regular meeting is scheduled for July 9 at 4:30 p.m. and said staff will bring priority projects informed by outreach back to the board for consideration.
No formal action was taken on the RTP outreach update; it was provided as the Transportation Manager's Report.
