Commission approves seven EV chargers for Mustang Business Park

The Planning and Zoning Commission on June 5 recommended approval of a Specific Use Permit to install seven electric vehicle chargers serving 14 spaces across three buildings at Mustang Business Park (1825–1855 Mustang Court).
Staff presented site maps showing charger locations at three separate buildings and renderings of the equipment. The applicant, Dalton Delon, said Brookfield Properties is installing chargers as an ESG initiative to meet tenant demand; he said the chargers are intended to be operational primarily during tenant business hours and that building owners can restrict operational hours if desired.
A commissioner asked about proximity to large fuel holding tanks shown on older aerials; staff clarified the tanks had been demolished and replaced with industrial buildings under construction, and estimated the nearest former tank location is several hundred feet away. Commissioners also discussed gate access and whether public access would be easily available; the applicant said chargers could be restricted to operating hours if the landlord and tenants prefer.
No surrounding property owners submitted written opposition. Following the public hearing, the commission voted 5‑0 to approve case ZA25‑0036 (review summary No. 2 dated 05/30/2025) and will forward the recommendation to City Council.
