Commission approves Colby Building site plan in Kirkwood East development

The Planning and Zoning Commission on June 5 unanimously approved the site plan for the Colby Building (case ZA25‑0032), a commercial building within the Kirkwood East development.
Architect Skip Blake, representing the project, told commissioners the building will be complementary to two recently completed buildings in the development and that final color elevations will be provided to City Council. Blake described the building uses as office and ancillary storage similar to the development’s existing buildings.
No surrounding property owners submitted written responses and no members of the public spoke during the required public hearing. Following a motion referencing the staff report dated May 2025 and the site plan review summary number 1 dated 05/30/2025, the commission approved the site plan 5-0.
The applicant will supply final color elevations and other submittal materials at later stages for council review.
