Engineering Director Gary Graham told council the action would transfer $500,000 from the hotel-motel fund balance to the utility construction fund and move $725,000 from the TIRS 1 fund to the utility construction fund to provide the capital to proceed with the project. At a later agenda item the council authorized the city manager to execute a contract with Blasco Texas Inc. for the Chestnut tank rehabilitation, approving option 1 as recommended in the technical review.
Council discussion referred interested members to the full TIRS meeting presentation earlier the same evening for more detailed engineering information. The motions to amend the budget and to authorize the contract were moved and seconded in open session; the council voted to approve both items.
