- Resolution scheduling a public hearing on July 15 at 5:30 p.m. to consider whether structures at several addresses (Third 113 South Eighth Street; 211 North Fifth Street; 219 North Fifth Street; 514 South Sixth Street; 1200 West Linden Avenue; 314 East Maple Street; and 309 East Van Buren Avenue) are unsafe or dangerous.
- Resolution authorizing the city to approve Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to City-State Agreement No. 104-19 with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for the Hike-Bike Trail Extension Phase 2 project and to ratify the mayor's prior execution of the agreement because of the time-sensitive nature of the request.
- Approval of a cereal malt beverage (CMB) license for consumption off the premises for Las Moncharques LLC, proposed at 2914 North Summit Street. The owner, Doris Herrera, addressed the commission and described plans to use tamper seals and bags consistent with state rules when selling CMB to-go.
- Approval of a surmount (on-premise) beverage license listed on the agenda as Las Marcos LLC at 2914 North Summit Street (consent agenda item as read on the agenda).
- Resolution authorizing an agreement between the city and Cowley County for fire-inspection services in areas outside the city limits, with the county reimbursing the city for inspection work. Staff said the arrangement formalizes an ongoing practice in which the city conducts inspections outside the city and the county reimburses the city.
- Resolution authorizing a temporary extension of permitted sale and detonation of consumer fireworks through Saturday, July 5, 2025, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, with sales hours extended and detonation allowed until midnight on the additional day. The ordinance's other provisions, including cleanup requirements, remain unchanged.
All items listed above were approved by voice vote during the meeting.
