District project updates: multipurpose buildings nearing completion; some sites slip toward start of school

District facilities staff updated the board on capital and renovation projects, reporting mixed progress but no immediate disruptions to fall school operations.
Mr. Green, the district projects lead, said most work is progressing: Vicksburg Junior has fence work remaining (paving punch list), and multipurpose buildings at Warrenton and South Park are nearing completion, with an early-July target. Redwood and Bovina projects are farther behind and may push close to the start of school in August.
Green said the Bovina demolition and construction of a replacement wall has begun and the RCEC renovation is in the final mechanical and finish-work phase; the auditorium renovation is complete but the administration is processing a change order to recover about $37,390 that remained in the project budget. Vicksburg High locker-room work is in final punch-list status.
Green also said district-paid trailer rent for temporary classroom space was prepaid and district staff will keep the units on site until contractors give “thumbs up” to move in.
Board members asked to schedule walk-throughs of several projects; Green said staff will coordinate multiple dates so trustees can visit the sites together.
No formal vote was needed for the update.
