Board immediately adopts changed credit-recovery rule, approves several policy updates

Dr. Holloway explained that the state-level requirement (identified in the packet as a change by "NDE") now limits credit recovery to a shorter window: students must make up failed coursework within a calendar year rather than across the entire high‑school tenure. Because summer school begins the following week, the superintendent and staff asked trustees to suspend board rules and approve IDCAB to allow the district to offer credit recovery under the new timeline.
A board member moved to suspend the rules and approve IDCAB so it would take effect immediately; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board also approved six other policy items that were carried forward from prior review: CE (policy code), GAA, GACK, GAG, GAHB (policy codes as listed in the packet). Trustees voted to adopt those policy revisions on staff recommendation.
