Parent urges district to keep tech coach at Lincoln and address equity concerns

Megan Angelo, who identified herself as a parent of three Lincoln students, said Ginsberg currently serves Lincoln as well as Spring Garden, Thomas Jefferson and Marvin elementary schools and described him as a central figure for technology help and community events. "He's usually the emcee of the event," Angelo said, and described parents' strong reaction after learning of his expected departure.
Angelo framed the issue as an equity concern: she said the affected schools are largely community schools whose families are less likely to provide out-of-school technology support and that losing a dedicated tech coach would widen existing digital-access gaps. "The kids who are least likely to interact with these tech opportunities on their own time and their parents' dime, are gonna have some of that taken away," she said.
Angelo said she appreciated a district reply from Dr. Facchinato but said parents remain hopeful the decision might be reversed or that the district will present a clear plan to address equity gaps if it proceeds. The board did not record a formal decision at the committee meeting; the item was presented during the public-comment period and staff were asked to connect parents with district leaders for further discussion.
