Skagit Planning Commission recommends BOCC adopt 2025 development regulations, including four staff recommendations

The Skagit County Planning Commission voted on May 20 to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners approve the county's 2025 development regulations, including staff-recommended changes labeled recommendations 18 through 21.

The recommendation follows staff presentations and public comment summaries prepared by Skagit County Planning and Development Services. Robbie Eckroth, senior planner, told the commission the planning commission—s role was "to deliberate and provide a recommendation on the development regulations and critical areas ordinance updates." He outlined the public comment period (April 21—May 8), a prior public hearing (May 6), and the schedule heading to the board: a work session on May 27 at 10:30 a.m., a second public comment period from May 29 through June 13, and another public hearing at the Board of County Commissioners on June 16.
