Applicant representative Amy Kine confirmed she would not be able to offer outdoor amplified music under the patio permit as currently written; the council directed that outdoor music policy would require a separate ordinance or special-event permit and advised the applicant to work with the clerk and the ordinance subcommittee if she wanted a code change.
Council members voted to approve and confirm the expanded patio area in the council packet; the council stated the applicant could proceed under the approved patio expansion and that the town and schools would work out user fees and maintenance responsibilities between the town and the school department for field and facility use where applicable. The clerk indicated final signatures and paperwork would follow.
The applicant was advised that special-event permits (for nonprofits) are handled differently and that businesses with existing licenses cannot use the special-event process to obtain ongoing outdoor music privileges.
