The board voted unanimously May 27 to award a bid for HVAC upgrades at Hellgate High School.
Facilities staff described the project as replacement of existing boilers in the 2002 addition and upgrades to controls. The district opened bids and identified Sentinel Mechanical as the lowest responsive bidder with a base bid of $91,004.66. Trustees approved acceptance of two alternates that bring the total contract to $115,154, pending successful negotiations, Facilities staff said.
Mr. McWilliams (facilities) told trustees the project will be paid for using permissive levy dollars approved by the board last year. The board’s high‑school motion to award the contract was moved by Vice Chair Walker Andrews and seconded by Trustee Wake; trustees voted unanimously to approve.
Ending: District staff will proceed with final contract negotiation and schedule the work, financed from permissive levy funds previously approved by the board.
