Livingston Parish School Board certifies tax renewal, approves land purchase and several personnel contracts

The board approved the purchase of a 7.1-acre tract adjacent to French Settlement High School to address overcrowding at nearby campuses. A presenter said the agreed price was "less than 9% over the appraiser rate" and that the price fell within the district’s purchasing scope; the purchase motion passed on a voice vote after a motion by Brad Sharp and a second by Caitlin Cochran.

The board approved payment of invoices and district supplements by voice vote. The agenda item listed confidential student information was deleted from the agenda, and the board scheduled athletic staff and medical staff meetings in advance of upcoming board meetings.
