The board recognized members of the Manhattan High School Floriculture FFA team during the May 20 meeting for winning the state floriculture competition and qualifying for the national competition in Indianapolis in October 2025.
A staff member introduced the recognition and said the team "now qualifies to compete at nationals in Indianapolis in October 2025." The board acknowledged individual accomplishments: Easton Ford (floriculture), Kate Borman (horse evaluation and veterinary science) and other students who placed across multiple Career Development Event categories.
Three student representatives — Mason Willard, Ethan Ford and Clara Mays — described events they competed in, which included floriculture, nursery and landscape, entomology, poultry and food science. The board praised the growth of the program and noted the district—s new greenhouse as a contributing factor.
No board action was required; the presentation was a recognition item on the agenda.
