Officials said the corridor currently carries about 47,000 vehicles and recorded about 34 crashes per year at the interchange; presenters said the DDI design typically reduces collisions by roughly one third and increases corridor efficiency by about one third, though those figures were presented as general national findings rather than local crash models.
