Sandy City Council adopted Ordinance 25-13 on May 20, 2025, approving the annexation of two parcels identified as 10665 South Dimpledale and 3075 East Deer Hollow Drive into city limits and applying R-140A zoning to the sites.
The parcel pair totals about 5.5 acres and is currently in Salt Lake County as R-1-43 zoning. Bridal McLehouston, assistant community development director, told the council the proposed R-140A zoning would match the zoning on adjoining properties within Sandy City. The city’s planning commission reviewed the proposal on May 15 and recommended approval.
Applicant representatives spoke in support. After a public hearing with no speakers, Council Chair Aaron DeKeyser moved to adopt Ordinance 25-13; the motion was seconded by Council Member Zach Robinson and carried by roll-call vote, recorded as 6 in favor and 0 opposed.
The ordinance will add the two parcels to Sandy’s municipal boundary and apply the R-140A zone as stated in the adopted text. The council did not attach conditions beyond the zoning as presented.
The annexation was presented as part of the Community Development Department’s regular agenda and reflected the planning commission’s recommendation. Council members voiced no substantive questions during the motion discussion and no public testimony was received before the vote.
The council’s ordinance file number for reference is Ordinance 25-13; the city will record the annexation and zoning change with Salt Lake County in the coming weeks.
