Commission approves Iconergy as commissioning agent for Justice Center, authorizes energy‑mitigation funds

Teton County commissioners on May 20 voted unanimously to award a commissioning‑agent contract to Iconergy for the Teton County Justice Center project and to use energy‑mitigation funds already allocated to the project to pay the $228,765 contract.
Josiah Nash, Teton County Facilities Maintenance Manager, told the board the commissioning agent’s role is to verify building systems, maximize energy efficiency and meet LEED certification requirements. Nash said three firms—Caterooma, Group 14 and Iconergy—were shortlisted and that Iconergy offered a competitive price and satisfactory qualifications.
Commissioner Gardner described the commissioning agent as a specialist who “looks for these efficiencies” and ensures the building meets design targets. Gardner moved to approve the contract and the use of funds; Commissioner MacKern seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The motion authorizes Iconergy to perform commissioning services through the justice center project; staff said the contractor is expected to help avoid near‑term corrective costs by validating system performance before project close‑out.
