Jackson Hole Destination Alliance emphasizes transparency amid destination-management RFP process

Mike Geraci, speaking for the Jackson Hole Destination Alliance (JHDA), told the council during public comment May 19 that the nonprofit is participating in the town's request-for-proposals process for destination management and wished to address recent public concerns about transparency.
Geraci said JHDA is a 501(c)(3) and follows federal transparency requirements, and offered a set of proposed transparency tools JHDA would make available if it managed the destination contract: regular planning and strategy meetings, public dashboards, public office hours, question-and-answer public sessions and board liaisons to the town's advisory boards. "There's no intent on our part to be holding meetings in behind closed doors," he said, adding they aim to "serve a public purpose."
Geraci invited the council and public to review JHDA's materials at jhda.substack.com and said the organization seeks to align with the public process rather than replace it. He stressed the distinction he saw between public purpose and closed governance and pledged to maintain visibility if selected for the contract.
Council did not take action at the meeting on the destination contract; Geraci's remarks were part of the public-comment record.
