The School District of Springfield Township board on May 19 approved a slate of routine personnel, finance and property items, including updates to vendor contracts, the reappointment of district officers, acceptance of a donation for the food‑service program and authorization to replace a high‑school gym scoreboard.
Key approvals included: acceptance of a $7,638.05 donation from the Giant Company to support the district’s food service program; authorization of NEVCO Sports LLC to replace and install the high‑school navy‑gym scoreboard at a cost not to exceed $37,728.20 under CoStars contract No. 014E23343; and approval of nonresident tuition rates for the 2025–26 school year of $17,921.40 annually ($99.56 per day) for grades K–6 and $18,342.36 annually ($101.90 per day) for grades 7–12.
The board also approved several administrative and contract items by voice vote, with no nays or abstentions recorded on the motions as presented: approval of the April 22, 2025 meeting minutes; acceptance of the treasurer’s report for the month ended April 30, 2025; personnel appointments and routine renewals; an updated contract with Pediatric Therapeutic Services to revise related‑service rates effective July 1, 2025; updated pricing with Kelly Services, Inc., for substitute staffing rates effective July 1, 2025; designation of depositories (PLGIT, PSDLAF, Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, TD Bank and Santander Bank) and authorization to participate in multiple cooperative purchasing programs; and the second reading and approval of revised policy 234 (Pregnant, Parenting and Married Students).
Officer appointments: Daniel Coleman was approved as board treasurer for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Kara A. Green was reappointed as school board secretary for the term July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2029.
Votes were taken by roll call or voice as noted on the agenda; where the board asked for oppositions or abstentions, none were recorded during the meeting. Several items were announced as annual renewals or routine authorizations and drew no extended discussion.
The meeting then moved to public comment and future meeting announcements; no members of the public signed up to speak on agenda items.
