Linn County commissioners adopted Resolution 2025‑11 on May 19 to add a safety footwear reimbursement policy to the county employee handbook.
County staff introduced the resolution as an amendment to the personnel and administrative policies. The adopted Section 10.7 allows qualifying employees to receive up to $200 once per calendar year toward a pair of safety footwear that meet applicable OSHA hazard standards. The motion states the policy covers hazards including electrical risks, sparks, molten metal, penetration by sharp objects, and compression risks.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution in open session. County staff said the policy will take effect May 19, 2025, and department heads and elected officials were authorized to take necessary steps to implement the policy. Human resources staff said they will email department heads and provide the reimbursement form to qualifying employees.
The board recorded the motion and a voice vote of "Aye."
