The resolution, which the board approved by voice vote, notes that Morgan taught at Greene County Training School, Snow Hill Junior High, West Green and Greene County Middle School and that former students and neighbors remember him for teaching perseverance, respect and musical skill. The resolution also names his long-term partner and caregiver (recorded in the meeting transcript as both "Dorothy Moore" and, elsewhere in the record, "Dorothy Mowy") and his daughter Patria Williams and offers the board's condolences.

County staff announced that Todd Whaley was selected to represent Greene County as the local hero at the Association's District 3 meeting on June 4. County staff described Whaley as the fire chief for the Snow Hill Fire Department and said he also serves as a reserve deputy with the Greene County Sheriff's Office and has prior experience as a police officer, water/sewer worker and town manager for Snow Hill.
On budget scheduling, the board set a series of workshops to review the proposed 2025–26 budget. The board agreed to hold a primary workshop at 8:30 a.m. at the Longleaf Pine conference room (as stated in the meeting) with a follow-up meeting the following Wednesday if additional time is needed.
