Two Sunnyside teachers honored in HSL/KVOA teacher appreciation awards

Fierros said, "Teaching is my passion. Teaching is what I was born to do, honestly. I come to work every day, and I'm that adult for the students that they're safe place." Oskar said, "I just wanna thank you for this recognition. My family's here today...I've been at this for a while now. This is my twentieth year as an educator. I started here at Los Francitos, Los Amigos, Gallego, and now Desert View. So I'm just I I love our district."
Administrators and board members praised the teachers' long service and work with multilingual learners and exceptional-student populations. The board noted that two Sunnyside teachers were among five winners across Tucson and congratulated them.
