Council grants temporary liquor license for Unmapped Brewing anniversary event

The Minnetonka City Council voted May 19 to grant a temporary on‑sale liquor license to Unmapped Brewing LLC for its anniversary event scheduled for Saturday, June 8.
Planning staff briefed the council that Unmapped has hosted similar events over the past eight years and that organizers secured additional off‑site parking agreements for the event. Staff said the police department reviewed parking complaints in the Glen Lake area and found four complaints so far that year; only one could be possibly attributed to Unmapped, and staff recommended approval.
Derek Allmendinger, identified as involved with Unmapped Brewing, told the council the brewery aims to be “a community gathering place” and described the June event as larger than prior years with multiple bands, food trucks and special beer releases. He said organizers welcome feedback and partnership with the city.
Council member Coakley moved to grant the license; Council member Shaq seconded. The roll call vote recorded unanimous yes votes from council members present, and the motion carried.
The temporary license includes the event's outdoor beer tent, on‑site tours and planned food trucks; staff said the brewery has arranged additional parking agreements with Glen Lake area businesses to accommodate attendees.
