The board approved two bid awards during the meeting: a $550,000 award to Bell Tower Corporation for the Snyder Hill Tower construction project (see separate article) and an award of $204,440 to Dave Roman Excavating Inc. for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Federal Fiscal Year 2023 Reynoldsville North Street waterline replacement project. A county presenter noted CDBG funding reduces municipal capital costs and that Dave Roman Excavating had worked with the county previously.
"We get community development block grant CDBG money that cuts back on the money our municipalities have to spend, particularly for infrastructure projects," a presenter said. "They chose the Reynoldsville project, the work street water line replacement for the 2023 money."
The board also moved to certify the municipal primary election results compiled by county election officials for the May 20, 2025 municipal primary. Elections staff reported the election ran smoothly with no reported machine issues and a roughly 26% turnout. Officials said write-in votes were being processed and could be collected through the end of the week; final write-in counts and more information are posted on the county website.
Meeting procedure: motions were moved and seconded for each item and the chair called for the question; the transcript records the chair asking "All in favor? Aye." and then "Motion carries." The transcript does not include a detailed roll-call vote tally for these items.
