Jefferson County awards Snyder Hill tower contract to Bell Tower Corporation

Jefferson County commissioners voted to award a $550,000 contract to Bell Tower Corporation of Chelsea, Oklahoma for the Snyder Hill tower construction project at their June 9, 2025 meeting.

County staff said the project was the subject of prior meetings and noted Bell Tower was the lowest qualified bidder among three proposals; the project will be funded by a Department of Community and Economic Development local share account grant that county officials said returns state-held funds to local projects.

"Sure. So we this project we've talked about at meetings here for for quite some time. We're excited to to get going this summer and get that tower up. We received 3 bids, and and Bell Tower was the lowest of all was qualified bill bidder. We're, really excited to work with them," said a staff member who presented the bid results. The presenter added: "They are already have been very impressive. their their their team is very seasoned in this sort of work, and we feel pretty confident that they'll be able to give us a quality product."

Commissioners acknowledged support from legislative representatives. "We wanna acknowledge again, the support that we received, from our, our legislative representatives for Jefferson County, representative Smith, senator Dosh, senator Pittman. They all put their voices behind this project," a commissioner said during discussion.

The motion to award the contract was moved and seconded during the meeting and approved; the transcript does not record a roll-call vote tally. The county did not specify a construction schedule or a project completion date during the discussion.
