Menomonee Falls board authorizes settlement in Waukesha County property case; estimated taxpayer refund about $68,000

The Village of Menomonee Falls Board of Trustees voted to authorize the Village Manager and Village Attorney to finalize and execute a settlement agreement in a Waukesha County property case identified in the meeting as "2024-C v 1173."
Trustee Hayes made the motion and it was seconded. Attorney Adam Kanan summarized the settlement terms during the discussion, saying the parties agreed to an assessed value of $6,500,000. "The value that the property, that the parties have agreed to is 6,500,000.0, that's an assessed value. And so that would, work out to a fair market value with the assessment ratio of roughly $6.9 M which is, in line with the village's appraisal of the property which is based on comparable sales. The total refund, that would be owed to the taxpayer for 2024 would be roughly $68,000," Kanan said.
The board approved the authorization unanimously.
