The Village of Menomonee Falls Board of Trustees approved a contract with Rootkirk and Milke Incorporated for design and bidding services for Well No. 11 (project number 72091) in the amount of $185,692.
Trustee Cross moved the contract, saying the deep well is intended for installation next to the existing shallow Well No. 10 on the village's west side to help dilute radium in that area. "Due to the increased development on the west side of the village, installation of a deep well Number 11 would be installed next to the Shallow Number 10. This is to help dilute the radium in the area," Cross said during discussion.
The board was told water impact fees will fund 75% of the project cost, with the remaining 25% charged to the water utility. The motion carried unanimously.
The contract award includes project number 72091; village staff will proceed with the design and bidding phase under the contract terms.
