Richardson ISD swears in three trustees, honors retiring leader and student award winners

A Destination Imagination elementary team, identified in the meeting as the “Mighty Pringles,” was honored for advancing to global finals in Kansas City and finishing ninth in the world competition after placing second at the state level. The board also recognized a graduating student-athlete, August Roberts, named during the meeting as a scholarship/student-sports honoree for softball.
Board members and district leaders took time later in the meeting to pay tribute to a long‑serving district leader identified in the record as Miss Morris, who is retiring. Multiple trustees thanked Morris for legislative advocacy and leadership, including work representing the district in Austin and assistance in securing funds; speakers credited her with years of service and wished her a long retirement.
