Superintendent announces SRO supervisor selection; summer programs and strategic planning underway

On school safety, Dr. Rickley announced that, following negotiations with the City of Papillion and the Papillion Police Department, the district selected Sergeant Kurt McClanahan to serve as the district's SRO supervisor. Dr. Rickley described McClanahan as having "a wealth of experiences," including an undergraduate degree, a master's degree and service in the United States Marine Corps; he said McClanahan brings experience in training, safety and crisis work and will act as a liaison and provide coverage and consultation for school safety planning.
The superintendent framed the role as supporting frontline officers, advising on safety planning, and coordinating with other jurisdictions. The announcement was met with board applause; Dr. Rickley closed his remarks by thanking McClanahan for agreeing to join the district.
