Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance board reports leadership transition; commissioners seek continued transparency

Kendra Spangler, vice chair of Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance (LNA/Spoke), told the committee on June 10 that the organization—s executive director left in May and an interim transition director has been hired while the board posts the executive director position.
Spangler said LNA/Spoke is focused on improving collaboration across nonprofits, government, businesses and agencies to identify countywide needs — she listed housing and homelessness and impacts of federal funding renewals as high priorities. She said the majority of LNA—s revenue comes from community foundations, membership dues and program fees, and that county funding accounts for about 10% of the organization—s budget.
Commissioners followed with a mix of appreciation and continued scrutiny. One commissioner thanked LNA for updating its website to reflect current services; another noted earlier concerns the board had raised about phrasing on the site and said the site now indicates certain pages are being updated. Commissioners said they value LNA—s role connecting agencies and asked staff to continue to monitor program and funding claims as the organization finishes its leadership transition.
LNA said it will adjust meeting locations to reach different parts of the county and is working with hospital systems to provide resource information for emergency departments.
No committee vote was required or taken on the LNA update; commissioners said they will continue to review program content and funding relationships as part of normal oversight.
