Papillion La Vista Community Schools' board voted to approve a purchase agreement with CDWG for Chromebook cases totaling $21,470, covering about 1,000 cases intended for freshmen devices.
Marcus Moore, district technology staff, told the board the purchase covers a portion of the device fleet the district approved in April. "This is for a portion of that fleet that we bought," Moore said, adding the district originally purchased 3,400 Chromebooks and is buying cases now for the freshmen distribution.
The motion to approve the CDWG purchase was made by Board Member Matt Madler and seconded by Board Member Skip Bailey. On a roll-call vote Madler, Bailey, Board President Miss Witt and Miss Wood voted yes; the motion carried.
Board discussion noted the purchase was part of the district's device refresh cycle and the cases are for the freshman cohort; staff said case pricing and availability were not expected to delay the rollout.
Why it matters: the purchase supports recently approved device procurement and the district's technology refresh for the coming school year.
