Baldwin Park Library launches Summer Discovery reading program and free lunch for youth

The Baldwin Park Library told the City Council June 4 about the launch of its Summer Discovery reading program and a free lunch service for children and teens.
Library staff said the Summer Discovery program, an independent reading initiative for all ages, began June 2 and runs through August; materials and a game sheet are available at the library and online at LACountyLibrary.org. The library also confirmed a free lunch service for children and teens 18 and under, running Tuesdays through Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. through August at the Baldwin Park Library.
Library staff offered condolences to the families and to the Baldwin Park Police Department during public communications before providing the program summary. The library indicated it will share electronic copies of memorial programming with council via city email and welcomed posting materials on the city website.
Council thanked library staff for the information. The presentation was informational; no council action was required.
