Pleasant Grove council approves Timpanogos Library Consortium memorandum of understanding

The Pleasant Grove City Council voted to adopt Resolution 2025‑022 authorizing the mayor to sign a memorandum of understanding to formalize the Timpanogos Library Consortium with American Fork and Highland.

Library presenter Sherry (library staff) summarized the agreement as an arrangement for the three libraries to join their catalogs and use courier service to deliver items between branches. “The Timpanogos Library Consortium is a group of 3 libraries, Pleasant Grove, Highland, and American Fork, that have made an agreement … so that all 3 libraries’ patrons can have easy access to [each other’s collections] and have courier services deliver them to the individual libraries,” Sherry said.

Sherry clarified that program offerings and local library card administration remain with each city; the consortium covers collection access and delivery. She said courier service had been running successfully and would expand from one delivery day per library per week to two days per week because demand had outgrown the city vehicle used for transports.

Council member Williams moved to adopt Resolution 2025‑022; the motion passed by roll call with affirmative votes from Council members Anderson, Jensen, Lamone, Rogers and Williams.

Ending: The agreement takes effect when signed by the mayor. Under the MOU, patrons will continue to use their local library card to place holds on items owned by any of the three member libraries; requested items will be routed to the patron’s local branch by courier.
