H.479 (housing) The member from Calais moved to postpone action on H.479 until Friday, May 30; the House adopted that motion.
H.91 (Vermont Homeless Emergency Assistance and Responsive Transition to Housing Program) The Senate had sent a proposal of amendment on H.91. The House Human Services Committee reviewed the amendment and, by a vote of 11, recommended that the House refuse to concur and request a committee of conference. The House voted to refuse to concur and requested a committee of conference. The Speaker appointed Representative Wood (member from Waterbury), Representative Maguire (member from Rutland City), and Representative McGill (member from Bridgeport) to the House conference committee. The House suspended rules to message its action to the Senate forthwith.
HCR152 (honoring Silas R. Loomis) The House read and adopted House Concurrent Resolution HCR152 honoring Silas R. Loomis for more than a half century of municipal public service as Castleton’s First Constable. The resolution recognizes his long tenure (1972–2025 as recited in the resolution text), service in multiple law enforcement roles, and military service; the secretary of state was directed to send a copy of the resolution to Silas R. Loomis and to the Castleton Town Clerk.
