The Wayne County Board of Commissioners approved the low responsive bid from ST Woot Corporation for Airfield Drainage Improvements Phase 2, authorizing a contract in the amount of $1,812,105 and an associated budget amendment to cover the county’s local match.
County staff said the project will be paid primarily with three grants and that Wayne County’s share of the match is $167,008.71. The board approved the bid award and asked staff to prepare the appropriate budget amendment to reflect the county match and grant funds.
Commissioners discussed the scope briefly and asked staff whether the phase would address the major drainage ditches that have been causing erosion at the Jetport; staff replied the work is part of a multi‑phase program and described Phase 2 as the next step after work completed in earlier phases.
The board approved the contract award and directed staff to bring contract documents and the budget amendment forward for execution.
