Board hires Moseley Architecture for county-wide fire station location study

Emergency-service staff said the effort will use the county’s newly compiled data on apparatus, call volumes and personnel to identify where to site future fire stations to meet projected growth. Deputy Fire Marshal Jordan Piper aided data collection, and staff told the board that Moseley has previously partnered with Matrix Consulting Group and completed comparable studies in Phoenix and elsewhere.
Moseley’s proposal, as summarized by Emergency Services Director Ryan Parker, includes deployment analysis to determine apparatus placement and coverage. Parker said the firm offered to include EMS stations in the study mapping to reflect how medical-first-response and transport integrate with fire deployment. Commissioners approved the recommendation by motion and voice vote.
