Monroe Local Board approves consent agenda including modular classrooms, touchscreens, Sodexo rate change and SRO agreement

The Monroe Local School District Board of Education approved its treasurer and superintendent consent agendas and a set of purchases and agreements at its Aug. 25 regular meeting, voting unanimously by roll call for each item that came before the board.

The board approved purchase and contract items that the administration said will complete summer and fall classroom and technology plans, update maintenance contracts and fund school safety and extracurricular technology: - Four modular classrooms from Middletown Schools to be installed at the primary campus for use as general classrooms, music, art and counseling space; the district said the units are lightly used and available at a below‑replacement cost. - Eight Clever touchscreens to complete the fourth-grade classroom rollout; administrators said most units have been ordered and delivery is expected soon. - Additional reading/language-arts textbooks for grades 1–4 to meet enrollment needs. - A 3.5% annual amendment to the district’s contract with Sodexo for food services. - A proposal to replace selected pole lights and fixtures across the main campus. - An annual HVAC preventative-maintenance agreement with Comfort Systems. - An agreement with the City of Monroe for two school resource officers (SROs); board discussion noted the…
