Library board elects vice chair and approves September minutes
Summary
The Los Alamos County Library Board unanimously approved the September minutes and elected a new vice chair by voice vote; no contested ballots were recorded.
At the start of the meeting the board voted to approve the minutes from the September meeting. A board member moved to approve the minutes and another board member seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the motion passed.
The board then held an election for vice chair. Jason Chapelle self-nominated for vice chair and the nomination was seconded by Michelle (Friends liaison and board member). The chair called for a vote; the motion passed by voice vote and Chapelle was confirmed as vice chair. The chair stated that the vice chair generally assists when the chair is absent and normally would move into the chair position at the start of the calendar year; because of the chair’s current term the vice chair is expected to remain vice chair until the chair’s term ends in September 2026.
No formal roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the meeting minutes that were reviewed at the meeting; the board took both actions by voice vote and the chair indicated both motions passed. No further formal actions were taken on either item.
