Council approves vacation of roadway, drainage and utility easement at Amelia Meadows

The Lakeville City Council approved a resolution on June 16 vacating a public roadway, drainage and utility easement at Amelia Meadows after a public hearing that drew no public comment.
"The final plat for Amelia Meadows has already been approved, but there was, we caught, an existing drainage, or existing easement, that needs to be removed. It's no longer needed because of the new plat," said Miss Goodroad, the community development director, who presented the item and said the resolution is required for recording the final plat.
The mayor opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke. Council member Dan Walter moved to approve the resolution vacating the roadway, drainage and utility easement and a second was given. The council then took a roll-call vote; members present voted to approve the resolution.
Staff said the easement was identified after the final plat review and the resolution will clear the title matters necessary to record the plat. The council did not identify any outstanding conditions tied to the vacation during the meeting.
