Commission approves prior meeting minutes and adopts most of its 2025 meeting schedule

Minutes approval: Vice Chair Wallen moved to approve the Oct. 16 minutes; Commissioner Reynolds seconded. The motion carried with Commissioner Langton recorded as abstaining because he was not present at the Oct. 16 meeting. Chair Scherer announced, “We show Commissioner Langton is abstaining since he was not present at the last meeting and otherwise passes unanimously.”
2025 meeting calendar: The commission considered a proposed calendar with seven full meetings and five panel‑only months and discussed the possibility of adjusting the Jan. 15, 2025 date because Commissioner Scherer said he had a conflicting hearing. Commissioners agreed to confirm the January date by email; excluding January from the immediate vote, Commissioner Langton moved to approve the remainder of the calendar and Commissioner Olsen seconded. The motion passed with Commissioner Amanda Yen recorded as abstaining.
Why it matters: The calendar establishes the commission’s regular meeting schedule for the coming year and includes contingency language noting a special meeting might be called if statutory timelines require it.
Other votes: At the start of the meeting the commission also approved the Oct. 16 minutes (see above). No legislative or rule changes were enacted in these votes.
No further formal action was taken on scheduling changes; staff said they will confirm the January date by follow‑up email and will proceed with the proposed calendar subject to that adjustment.
