Forest Park police report drop in crime, confirm arrests in fatal motorcycle incident

Chief Chris of the Forest Park Police Department said the department is marking National Police Week and used the report to summarize recent public-safety developments. “Crime is still get down in the city of Forest Park. We're still down negative 15%,” Chief Chris said.
The department described a recent motorcycle-related incident that “ultimately led to 2 people, people being deceased as well as 2 other injured.” Chief Chris said arrests have been made in connection with that incident. He also said the two people who were injured were charged “with the, the deaths or and or the unaliving of the 2 other decedents.” The chief said the department is continuing to work the case.
Separately, Chief Chris highlighted a pattern of petty thefts and vehicle break-ins. “The thing that's really plaguing us right now was these petty thefts, some entering autos,” he said, urging residents to lock doors and keep valuables out of sight.
The department also noted recent personnel changes: a Miami police officer was recently onboarded to Forest Park’s force, two new officers are scheduled to start next week, and staffing levels remain strong, the chief said.
Council members and staff did not take formal action on the items; Chief Chris encouraged residents to follow the department’s Facebook page for updates.
