Duchesne County commission approves payment plans, grants, policies and plats; several items ratified unanimously

Duchesne County Commissioners on June 2 approved a package of administrative motions and ordinances covering delinquent-invoice payment plans, a local business matching grant, revisions to the county purchasing-card policy and two plat-amendment ordinances that clear rights-of-way connected to the TransWest Express transmission alignment.

The routine but significant items included formal adoption of an employee delinquent-payment letter and payment-plan signature page; approval of a $10,000 Utah Rural Matching grant to Pinnacle Production and Manufacturing; adoption of an updated Purchasing Card Policy (Policy 401) that establishes a three-person review committee; ratification of the May tax sale; and adoption of two ordinances (25-4-19 and 25-4-20) to consolidate Vista Valley Estates lots and vacate certain public easements needed for the TransWest Express project.

Why it matters: together these votes authorise staff to pursue revenue collection, direct small-business matching funds, tighten controls on county purchasing cards, and clear legal/title hurdles for a regional power-line project that traverses county land. The ordinances also change lot configurations in unincorporated Vista Valley to replace numerous one-acre recreational parcels with larger, more developable lots.
