City staff presented an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Arapahoe County that would permit the county to use specified city‑owned facilities as voter service and polling centers (VSPCs) and ballot drop‑box locations for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 election years. Katie Rodriguez said the IGA is a renewal of an agreement the council previously adopted in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Council members asked whether similar agreements would be necessary with neighboring counties as new development changes ward boundaries; staff said Adams and Douglas counties would be contacted as needed if county election officials request use of city facilities.
Councilors indicated they were comfortable moving the IGA forward to study session for formal adoption; staff will coordinate with county election officials as requests arise.
