The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office presented a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the City of Warren to support an application for a grant to enhance investigation and prosecution of domestic violence cases. Chief of Special Prosecutions Dylan Biondo said the MOU is required for the grant application and the county and Warren will finalize partner documentation if the application proceeds.
Biondo said the grant application deadline is July 10; the MOU is included in the application packet per the county's grant writer. He added that Turning Point, a nonprofit domestic violence service provider, is expected to be a partner and that additional MOU language will be arranged as needed. The packet said the proposed MOU imposes no direct cost to the county.
The committee voted to recommend the MOU and associated grant application support to the full board. Biondo said, if the county receives the award, the office will return with details and a budget amendment.
