The manager noted the trail’s natural features — such as a heron seen from the bridge — as community assets worth preserving but emphasized safety concerns.
Council members and staff discussed arranging an engineering assessment and addressing immediate trip hazards. No funding appropriation was approved at the meeting; staff were directed to pursue inspections and follow up with options and cost estimates for council consideration.
