The Carson City Redevelopment Authority unanimously approved its final fiscal year 2026 budget after staff corrected an error in incentive payments and updated the downtown neighborhood improvement district (NID) number in the final materials.
At the meeting, Ms. Benaboom (staff) told the Authority that the supplementals and capital items approved at the May 1 meeting had been included in the final redevelopment budget and that a small error in incentive payments had been corrected. She also said the downtown NID number had been updated in the final budget.
There were no public comments on the redevelopment budget item. Supervisor Schuette moved to adopt the Redevelopment Authority final budget for FY26; the motion was seconded and adopted on a unanimous voice vote.
During final public comment for the redevelopment authority, resident Denny French urged the city to pursue state or BLM land to preserve open space for wildlife, saying bees are now considered wildlife and that the city should not miss opportunities to acquire land for habitat.
