Committee backs rezoning at Farrell Elementary to reflect longstanding school use

Paula Brumbelow Burns, director of legislation for the Planning Commission, said the change was proposed in coordination with the Philadelphia School District to give the school a civic/educational zoning designation that reflects its long-standing use. “This will give the Philadelphia School District continuity of zoning district designation reflecting a long standing school use,” she said.
Councilmember O’Neil, who introduced the bill, thanked the Planning Commission for its work and said he would inform the community. The committee reported the bill with a favorable recommendation and moved to suspend rules for first reading.
