Kane County commissioners approve fire agreements, software purchase, tax rates and multiple appointments

Kane County Commissioners on June 10 unanimously approved a package of administrative and operational measures including a vehicle emergency response agreement with Kanab City, adoption of a new financial software contract for county accounting, setting the county's 2025 property tax rates and a slate of board appointments and selections, including a named candidate for justice court judge. The meeting took place at 76 North Main Street.

The actions are intended to clarify firefighting response authority in parts of unincorporated Kane County, modernize the county's financial reporting systems and finalize personnel and board appointments ahead of the summer season. Commissioners also set a public hearing for July 22 on a proposal to annex territory into the Church Wells Special Service District for fire protection only.
