Under the approved configuration: Scott and North (middle schools) will serve grades 6–8; Coatesville Area Intermediate High School will serve grades 9–10; the senior high will serve grades 11–12. The change is intended to align grade levels with renovations and new construction schedules so that student movement can be accommodated during multi‑year building projects.
District leaders described the change as part of a larger facilities and program plan: new additions at North Brandywine are intended to provide interim capacity while the district builds a new North Brandywine facility; the Reesville addition will accept displaced students when other buildings close and Doe Run Elementary will open as a consolidated elementary. The board vote moves the realignment forward so the district can submit required notifications to the Pennsylvania Department of Education and finalize schedules for fall implementation.
The motion passed by roll call vote with all members present voting in favor.
